JoinEUsee > PENTA offers mobility scholarships for students at undergraduate, master and doctoral level as well as for post-doctoral fellows and academic and administrative university staff.

WB nationals

Nationals of the Western Balkan partner countries1

If you are enrolled or registered/employed at a Western Balkan partner university of the JoinEUsee > PENTA partnership, you belong to target group 1 and you can apply for

  • Credit transfer programmes, that is exchange mobility (undergraduate2, master, doctorate)
  • Full degree programmes (master, doctorate)
  • Short stay programmes (post-doctorate, academic and administrative staff)

 

If you are enrolled or registered/employed at a higher education institution in one of the Western Balkan partner countries not included in the JoinEUsee > PENTA partnership, you belong to target group 2 and you can apply for

  • Credit transfer programmes, that is exchange mobility (master, doctorate)
  • Full degree programmes (master, doctorate)
  • Short stay programmes (post-doctorate, academic and administrative staff)

 

If you have obtained a university degree or equivalent from a higher education institution in one of the Western Balkan partner countries, you also belong to target group 2 and you can apply for

  • Full degree programmes (master, doctorate)
  • Short stay programmes (post-doctorate)

 

If you are in a particularly vulnerable situation3 (such as ethnic minorities, refugees, asylum seekers) and can prove this (by providing official documentation), you belong to target group 3 and you can apply for:

  • Credit transfer programmes (undergraduate2, master, doctorate)
  • Full degree programmes (master, doctorate)
  • Short stay programmes (post-doctorate)

 

«IMPORTANT» All applicants need to have sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction or of one of the languages currently spoken in the hosting country.

 

ATTENTION: Not every call for applications covers all levels and types of mobility. Check the information on open calls to see if the level and type of mobility you are interested in are available.

1 Western Balkan nationals must not have resided nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc.) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in any of the eligible European countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom). Last five years refers to the deadline of the current call for applications (i.e. the period between February 1st, 2010 and February 1st, 2015). This rule does not apply to applicants in target group 3 and staff.

2 Undergraduate students must have successfully completed at least one year of undergraduate studies (60 ECTS credits) by the time of the application.
