As an Albanian, the decision to enroll myself in Southeastern European Studies Master Programme at the University of Belgrade changed my life. During the first year of my studies in Belgrade I learned about the JoinEU-SEE>PENTA scholarship, thus I applied. Being granted with a scholarship from JoinEU-SEE>PENTA, as an Albanian student in Belgrade, was the best reward of my decision. This scholarship gave me the chance to continue the second year of my master studies at the University of Graz, in Austria, where I also had the great chance to conduct an internship at the Centre for Southeastern European Studies. The facilities given by the University of Graz makes me feel very lucky and thousand times grateful for everything. What I saw at the University of Graz was all what I dreamed for during my Bachelor in Tirana. It would not be enough even a paper to describe such a great opportunity given by JoinEU-SEE>PENTA, which improved my academic perspective, my foreign languages, deepen my knowledge in the field of my studies and further, broaden my horizons about the world. The interaction with other students from diverse professional and cultural background drawn from all over the world will be an unforgettable experience and increased my desire to visit many other countries, which I probably didn’t consider before. This experience has taught me that the exposure is important for interaction and integration of ideas, and perspectives pertaining to various global issues, because the world is a mosaic of different cultures and a single perspective cannot apply in all these cultures. I am very happy and deeply grateful for being JoinEU-SEE>PENTA alumni. I highly encourage young students to apply.
