Letter of Support by the home university
The Letter of Support by the home university is a document which staff applicants in target group 2 need to upload in their online application. This document confirms that the home university approves of the proposed mobility of the candidate.
The Letter of Support does not only confirm that the applicant may engage in the mobility scheme. It also states that the mobility, if granted, benefits the interest of the sending institution, i.e. the home university. This is essential as JoinEU-SEE>PENTA aims to support mobility which fosters the creation of academic and institutional links between the respective home and host universities. In this respect, the Letter of Support states that the mobility will benefit not only the staff applying for it but also the institution itself through the exchange of know-how and expertise and possible follow-up projects/activities arising from the mobility and the established contacts.
The Letter of Support has to be issued by the head of the unit/department with which the applicant is affiliated.
