Letter of Interest by the host university
Applicants for a doctorate exchange, post-doctorate or staff mobility need to upload a Letter of Interest (LoI) in the online application.
In order to complete the Letter of Interest, the applicant needs to establish contact with a potential supervisor at the host university already during the application process. By signing the Letter of Interest, the contact person at the host university confirms his/her interest in hosting the candidate if a scholarship is granted. At the same time, the Letter of Interest guarantees that the profile of the applicant matches the thematic expertise of the host university.
The template for the Letter of Interest can be downloaded HERE.
When preparing the Letter of Interest, follow these steps:
Step 1: Establish contact with a potential supervisor at the host university. If you do not yet have any contacts at the host university, you can ask the JoinEUsee > PENTA contact person there to support you in finding an adequate academic coordinator/supervisor who is willing and able to support you and work together with you during your mobility period.
Step 2: Discuss and agree upon the planned study/research/teaching/training activities with the academic coordinator/supervisor at the host university. The activities need to be specified in your Mobility Activity Plan.
Step 3: Provide the academic coordinator/supervisor at the host university with the template for the Letter of Interest. He/she needs to fill in, sign and stamp the document and send it back to you (a scan is sufficient).
Step 4: Upload the Letter of Interest in the online application.
